Officers from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation are looking into the suicide of an inmate being held at the Park County Detention Center.
45-year-old Robert Henry Jackson of Cody was discovered Sunday morning, at approximately 10:15 a.m. in the shower area by fellow inmates. He was unresponsive.
According to a news release from the Park County Sheriff’s Office, detention deputies immediately began CPR on Jackson until the arrival of an ambulance from Cody Regional Hospital. Jackson was taken to Cody Regional Hospital and then transported to the Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings where he died Monday afternoon.
Jackson was arrested on April 11th on charges of aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon, a felony that carries up to 25 years in prison and $50,000 in fines. Jackson is alleged to have forged a bill of sale and told elaborate lies in an effort to cover up the theft of 34 firearms from a home outside of Cody.
