June Sees High Number of Visitors to Region

June saw another busy month for Yellowstone National Park.
The Park Service released numbers yesterday that show that 2017 was the second busiest June on record, down 4.8 percent from last year. Over 800,000 people visited Yellowstone last month – bringing the total number of visitors this year to over 1.35 million.
Park officials say that is down a little over five percent from last year, which was the highest on record – but almost 25 percent higher than the number of visitors who came to the Park five years ago.
But Yellowstone isn’t the only organization that has been seeing large amounts of visitors. Bruce Sauers, Director of Revenue and Enterprise at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, says they have seen more people coming through the doors there this summer.
Park officials urge visitors to plan ahead for their visit due to the high number of people enjoying the Park. They advise travelers to anticipate delays at popular attractions, and check road conditions on the park’s website.
