Kanye West’s Cody Property On the Market – Is It Over?

One of Kanye West’s Cody properties is “on the market,” which may signal the end of the rapper’s personal and professional ambitions in northwest Wyoming.

The Cody-based DBW Realty Inc has a new property on its market: 3202 Big Horn Avenue. On a typical day, it would be a prime but unremarkable location for a burgeoning business. Except this was Kanye’s building.

In Sept. 2019, Kanye West committed to buying the Monster Lake Ranch, possibly relocating his family and business to Cody. This came with the promise of new jobs and industries to northwest Wyoming thru West’s various enterprises, including the lucrative Yeezy shoe brand.

Soon after the Monster Lake Ranch acquisition, West also purchased 3202 Big Horn Avenue as a “regional headquarters” for his various enterprises, including Yeezy shoes. He invested more capital into the building to suit the needs of the company and its growing number of employees.

At the same time, West looked into rehabilitating the Cody Labs building for his company’s purchases. Throughout this time, he spoke of creating more opportunities in Cody and northwest Wyoming, benefitting the region and its economy.

The 4,800-foot building was used as a central location for Kanye West and his Yeezy shoe brand in Cody – now it’s listed at $1,299,000.

The listing on the DBW Realty website calls the property “prime commercial real estate in a perfect location.” The sale also includes the 6,000 square foot heated tension fabric building, West added after purchasing the property.

3202 Big Horn Avenue was an associated address for Psalm 2019, the limited liability company (LLC) West used to purchase the Monster Lake Ranch. As of Thursday. Sept. 30, West’s Cody ranch is not listed as for sale on any realty site.

If this means West is divulging his Cody assets, it would be an unexpected reversal given his initial interest in Cody. West visited local schools,  frequented Cody’s restaurants, and seemed to ingratiate himself into the community. He even voted for the first time at the Cody Rec Center during the 2020 Election.

Only time will tell what this means for Kanye West’s future in Cody.
