Kitten Season
Written by Kim Kelley on June 22, 2023
It is mid-June which means we are officially in the middle of Kitten Season!!
What is Kitten Season, you ask… Simply put: it’s when a cat’s reproductive cycle goes into overdrive & they have lots of babies. Kitten Season happens between March-October each year, with the average cat having up to three litters of kittens per year, with four kittens per litter.
Recently I had a chance to visit with Jessy & Jackie from the Park County Animal Shelter about Kitten Season & how to become a foster (which they’re in need of!)
It’s not just the new, itty bitty kittens they need fosters for, but the pregnant mama cat’s too!
According to ASPCA, fostering provides a safe & healthy environment for kittens to grow. Jessy explains more…
Unfortunately, PCAS is currently unable to take in any more animals at this time, but you can still help out!! Becoming a foster or volunteering your time, are the two easiest ways to help the Park County Animal Shelter. They’re also accepting monetary & supply donations too!
