Written by Andrew-Rossi on September 24, 2018
A Wapiti man has pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge in his wife’s fatal shooting.
76-year-old Dennis Klingbeil entered his plea on Friday. The Cody Enterprise reports that Park County Circuit Court Judge Bill Simpson ordered that Klingbeil will remain in jail without bond.
Klingbeil is accused of shooting his 75-year-old wife, Donna Klingbeil, in their Wapiti home on Aug. 5th. Klingbeil’s attorney, Donna Domonkos, argued that the shooting was an accident, and not premeditated. Police have said that Klingbeil took a number of pills in an attempt to kill himself after the shooting.
No date has been set yet for trial.
