The Lady Warriors would face the number 2 seed from the Southwest Quad Lyman Lady Eagles.

With a slow start by both teams and some confusion about the score, Worland would trail the 1st period 8-9, or did they?

Worland continued with defensive pressure and key scores from Junior Taylor Simmons the Lady Warriors finished the first half up by 8 over Lyman.

The Lady Eagles would close the gap in the 3rd period that would set up an “instant classic” finish.

With what appeared to be a 6th time out of the half Lyman would get the 42-41 win over Worland.

Simmons had 11 points that included three 3-point shots, and Manaia Peterson with 9 points.

In the defeat, which included an incredible effort from the Worland girl’s team, Junior Yahaira Aguayo was injured and wouldn’t return for the remainder of the tournament.
