Lady Warrior Swim Team Brings Home Hardware

The Worland Lady Warrior Swim Team returns from the State swim meet with hardware. Seniors Kylie Warren, Annalisa Newell, Ella Stanek, and Freshman Elena Gunderson would finish 6th at the State meet in the 200 meter medley relay. The State meet was held at Laramie High School Friday November 6th and Saturday November 7th. The Lady Warriors, as a team, would finish 8th place overall at the Wyoming 3A girls Swim Meet. The Wyoming 3A State Champions for the 2020 Girls Swim Meet would be Green River. Cody, Powell, Buffalo, and the 3A defending State Champion Lander Valley Lady Tigers finishing 5th. Lyman, Sublette County (Pinedale, Big Piney) and the Worland Lady Warriors finish out the top 8 teams.

Senior Kylie Warren would finish with top finishes for Worland High School with solo finishes in the 100 meter breaststroke which she got 12th place. The 100 meter fly with her 8th place finish. She would also add 2 team finishes with the 200 meter medley relay and the 8th place 400 meter free style relay. Ella Stanek, the Senior swimmer, also had four top finishes. 8th in the 100 meter backstroke, and 12th in the 100 meter fly. She was on both the 400 meter free style relay and the 200 meter medley relay. Senior Annalisa Newell was on three top finishing relay teams. the 400 meter free style, the 200 meter free style, and the 200 meter medley relay. Junior Ashanti Pedraza and Freshman Erika Manahan completed the 8th place 200 free style relay team. Kelli Frimml ,a Junior, got a 6th place medal with the 200 meter medley relay team.

The Worland Lady Warrior swim team has concluded their 2020 swim season 8th. The Lady Warriors were 10th in 2019, 5th in 2018,and finished 2nd overall in 2017.
