Lady Warriors Come Up Short In Conference Match

In a match of two halves the Lady Warriors fall short with a 5-3 loss to the Wyoming 3A number 2 ranked Lander Lady Tigers.

The Lady Warriors came into Tuesdays match at Warrior Stadium 3-3 on the season.

Lander Valley was 5-2 and ranked number 2 in the state.

The Lady Tigers would come out with a scoring fury with 2 goals in the 6 minutes.

Lander’s Whitney Hansen scored first at the 36:57 mark, less then 3 minutes later at the 34:47 mark Mason Morton would score.

The Lady Tigers would add one more goal from Emma Goetz  at 22:27.

The page would turn in the second half for the Lady Warriors.

In under two minutes Sophomore Rivers Carrol would put Worland on the board with a score at 38:18.

Lander would trade shots at the 37:49 mark with the second goal of the match from Forward Emma Goetz at the 37:49 mark.

Down 4-1 the Lady Warriors did not give up.

Sophomore Nayelli Aguayo would add to the Worland total with a goal at 30:57 with the assist from Carrol.

Annabelle Nachazel scored the final goal for Lander at the 22:19 mark.

Now down 5-2 again no quit from the Lady Warriors.

Rivers Carrol buried a Penalty Kick in the back of the net at the 17:39 mark putting the score at 5-3.

Worland had outscored Lander in the second half 3-2.

The Lady Warriors would continue to put pressure on the Lady Tigers for the remainder of the match.

Worland had 12 shots on goal to Landers 11 the Lady Warriors just couldn’t get the ball between the pipes.

Lady Warrior Soccer’s record is 3-4 overall 0-3 in Conference.
