Legend Rock Tour Tomorrow
Written by Andrew-Rossi on June 7, 2019
One of the more popular activities each year through the Meeteetse Museums is the Legend Rock Petroglyph tour.
The staff at Meeteetse Museums invite you to join archaeologist Dr. Larry Todd this weekend for a fun and educational tour to Legend Rock State Petroglyph Site. That’s about 37 miles south of Meeteetse.
Legend Rock is “one of the oldest and best examples of the Dinwoody rock art in the world” where the public can view nearly 300 individual petroglyphs created up to 10,000 years ago. Education and Programs Manager Amy Phillips, says it’s a great chance to learn about history of the region.
Participants are asked to bring their own lunches and drinks. The tour this Saturday is free and pre-registration is NOT required.
