Lights Out in the Tunnels Today

It will be darker than usual today if you’re passing through the tunnels west of Cody.
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation is scheduled to cut power for about six hours today to the lights inside the big tunnel on highway 14/16/20. The outage is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end about 3 p.m. Bureau of Reclamation Area Manager Carlie Ronca says the outage is necessary to perform breaker maintenance.
WYDOT spokesman Cody Beers says drivers are advised to heed the signs at each end of the tunnels, advising people to “Turn Headlights On For Safety” when driving through the tunnels. And he warns that the Highway Patrol may cite drivers who don’t comply.
