Alice Cooper is set to release a new album called “Road” on Aug. 25. Giving fans a small preview of what to expect on the new album, Cooper has released a new song called “I’m Alice,” which you can listen to below.
Cooper, known for his shock-rock persona and non-stop touring, stated that he really wanted to showcase his touring band on this latest release. With guitarists Nita Strauss, Ryan Roxie, and Tommy Henriksen, drummer Glen Sobel, and bassist Chuck Garric, the group has played a vital role in Cooper’s live shows. So when it came to “Road,” Cooper tried to involve the band in the creative process of crafting each song.
“I’ve always believed in showing off a band this good,” Cooper explained. “With ‘Road,’ I wanted to capture their tightness and showcase it on all-new material. We brought that energy and talent into the studio, creating an album that highlights their incredible live performances.”
In the making of “Road,” Cooper made one important and mandatory rule, no overdubs. He wanted the album to truly reflect the band’s live prowess. “Everything has to be done in the studio live because the whole idea of this album is showing off how good this band is live,” Cooper shared in a recent interview. The result is a studio album that captures the essence and excitement of their live performances.
The 13-track album will be released in August but ‘Road’ is available for pre-order on Cooper’s Website.
