Dolly Parton has unveiled the first single off her upcoming ‘Rockstar’ album “World on Fire.”
Parton wrote the song herself, and the track looks into the fear and anger of the world today. ‘World on Fire’ is one of the few songs on the 30-track, star-studded album not to feature a rock ‘n’ roll collaborator.
Parton stated “This is a song I felt very inspired to write,” She continued, “I think it speaks about everything and to everyone this day and time. I hope it is something that will touch you and maybe touch enough people to want to make a change for the better.”
Parton will be performing “World on Fire” for the first time live tonight at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
“It’s really kind of about the times and how we can do a little better if we try to heal the divide and just get along a little better,” she explained. “And so it’s really got a great message to it, but it’s also good and solid, kind of like a rock anthem.”
‘Rockstar’ has been a highly anticipated album, being that it is Parton’s first-ever rock album, and features contributions from Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Nikki Sixx, and many more. At this time the album is set to release on Nov. 17.
