Livestock Find Shelter From the Fire

People and structures are always the first thoughts during wildfire evacuations.
But what about livestock that has been turned out on the mountain?
The Cody Stampede Board has made the rodeo grounds available to anyone who needs to relocate their livestock due to the evacuations on the North Fork as a result of the Fishhawk Fire. Tony Scheiber, Stampede Board member and veterinarian, said he wanted to make sure residents know there is a place for their livestock – he just asks that folks give him a call first before bringing their animals over.
A release from the Incident Command Team on the Fishhawk Fire notes that the Park County Fairgrounds are also available to house livestock until the emergency closure has been cancelled.
