Local UW Students Awarded Scholarships

Two local University of Wyoming students have received academic scholarships this school year.
Two UW freshman – Cody’s Aaron Enriquez and Wapiti’s Claire Wooden – have been awarded part of $55,000 given to students by the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation. The foundation has given over $1 million dollars to the university over the years, in order to support their mission of teaching, research, and public service.
The award from the Foundation provides funding to several campus programs – everything from the Veterans Service Center and vocational education to the UW Art Museum and Rocky Mountain Power Senior Design Symposium in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. But every year, certain students are also honored with scholarships to continue their academic pursuits without interruption.
Aaron Enriquez and Claire Wooden are amongst 14 Wyoming students selected this school year.
