Longtime Big Horn County Sheriff Dave Mattis Passes

Former longtime sheriff of Big Horn County, Dave Mattis, passed away yesterday morning.
Mattis served as sheriff from 1995 to 2007. In a statement, current Sheriff Ken Blackburn called Mattis a great leader of law enforcement and emergency services in Big Horn County. He added that the department’s thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time, noting that he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Sheriff Mattis will be next Saturday, August 26th at 10:00 A.M. at the Greybull High School Gymnasium.
