Lovell Man Sentenced for Abuse

A Lovell man has been sentenced to prison for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
According to an article in the Basin Republican Rustler, 27 year old Ryan Moody was sentenced in Fifth Wyoming Judicial District Court in Basin in August for one count of felony child abuse. He was initially charged with two counts of second degree sexual abuse of a minor, also a felony, but attorneys involved in the case reached a plea agreement and amended the charges.
Court records say the abuse took place in November of 2015, when police were contacted by a Wyoming Department of Family Services caseworker on Jan. 18, 2016. The affidavit says that Moody picked the girl up from her home before taking her to another residence, giving her marijuana. That’s when the abuse occurred.
In addition to the prison sentence, Moody was ordered to pay court costs.
