Major Construction On Sheridan Avenue Next Year

Prepare for major roadwork on Sheridan Avenue next year.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation will begin a major project on Sheridan Avenue between 10^th Street and Stampede Avenue next year. This will be the first major road maintenance on Sheridan Avenue since it was completely rebuilt in the mid-1980s. WYDOT says this project cannot be delayed any longer, or the road will inevitably need a full reconstruction in the future.

There is an extensive list of work that needs to be done:

• Replacing concrete
• Gutter and curb repair
• Upgrading all corners and crosswalks for ADA accessibility,
• Resealing joints
• Grinding and texturing the entire roadway

The work is expected to begin in March 2020. Two-way traffic will be maintained during the entire project.

The good news is that any contractor who is awarded the project cannot work between June 15^th and August 24^th so the construction will not cause issues with the increased traffic during the tourist season.
