Wyoming Rising, a local nonpartisan advocacy group, will hold a combined March for Science and Earth Day celebration this Saturday.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. at Cody City Park and will travel through downtown. Afterwards, the public is invited to a free program from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Coe Auditorium at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, where speakers will present topics about science and the environment.
This is the third year that the organization has held the Science March, according to organizer Ronn Smith.
Speakers at the Coe Auditorium include Crow elder Grant Bulltail; Marshall Dominick with the wild horse advocacy group Friends of a Legacy; Smith, who is an engineer; Dr. Mary Keller; and anthropologist Dr. Larry Todd.
Smith says they are hoping for a good turnout this year. He says last year’s event drew around 150 people.
