Park County residents have the opportunity to meet a wide range of candidates at an outdoor lunch next Thursday in Powell.
The Powell Economic Partnership is hosting a Meet the Candidates Community Lunch for the local business community and all community members of Powell on Thursday, August 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Washington Park, near the bandshell. This is a unique event, with candidates from the local Mayor all the way up to the US Congress. There is no cost for the event and it is open to the public. PEP is sponsoring the lunch for the community.
Christine Bekes, Executive Director for PEP, says that in Wyoming and definitely in Powell, citizens appreciate an opportunity to meet candidates face-to-face and look them in the eye. She adds that with the top 5 elected officials in Wyoming up for election, this year is significant.
Bekes says invitations have been extended to all candidates running for office in Powell, Park County, the State and the US House. As of yesterday, 32 candidates were confirmed to be in attendance, including those running for Powell City Mayoral and Council seats; all ten of the County Commissioner candidates; several of the State House and Senate candidates from this region; US Congressional contender Rod Miller; candidates for the Wyoming State auditor, Secretary of State and State Treasurer’s seats; and seven of the ten candidates running for Governor.
