Moose Relocated from Cody

A lone moose that made its way into a Cody neighborhood earlier this year has a new home.
In mid-January, reports began coming in to the Wyoming Game and Fish office that a moose was spotted in the Beck Lake area. On January 26, the animal made its way into a neighborhood near downtown, and Tara Hodges with the Game and Fish office said they were dispatched to relocate the moose.
Hodges says the young female moose was located near Alger Avenue and 19th Street, tranquilized, and removed from the area. She said it took 4-5 Game and Fish personnel about an hour to load the animal up.
She adds that this incident is definitely not a usual event.
Hodges said that moose was relocated to the Wood River drainage west of Meeteetse.
