More Construction Delays Begin Next Week

Written by on April 30, 2018

More traffic delays for construction will begin next week – this time it will be for a project south of Cody.
A Worland contractor is scheduled to begin a $3.6 million-dollar pavement rehabilitation project Monday that starts around 7 miles south of Cody and extends south about 11 miles.
Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Todd Frost of Cody said the work includes an inch of asphalt pavement leveling, a two-inch asphalt overlay, and a chip seal finish between Cody and Meeteetse. He says that traffic control will begin this Thursday, with paving beginning May 7th.
Frost says that traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car, and that motorists should expect single-lane traffic and delays of up to 20 minutes while the contractor is working.
Paving is expected to take about five weeks to complete, and chip sealing of the improved roadway is scheduled in June, but all work is dependent on favorable weather. The contract completion date is June 30th.
