Over the weekend, Sixx and the rest of the band traveled to London, where they added the final touches to the album in a local studio, alongside frontman Vince Neil. This productive session coincided with their upcoming world tour with Def Leppard, which is set to kick off on May 22.
While enjoying their time in London and exploring the city’s attractions, the iconic Los Angeles rock institution focused on perfecting their first studio album since 2008’s “Saints of Los Angeles.” This album also marks the first without co-founder Mick Mars on guitar, following his departure from the band amid a legal dispute.
Mars, who retired from touring due to the painful effects of ankylosing spondylitis, had initially intended to contribute to the studio work. However, the lawsuit has led to a new era for Mötley Crüe, with John 5, joining as the band’s touring guitarist.
In a recent interview with Eddie Trunk on Sirius XM, John 5 expressed his excitement about the new Mötley Crüe songs.
“The [new Mötley Crüe] songs are f****** heavy…I sound like a little excited kid right now, but they’re heavy and they’re mean. I can’t wait for them to come out. I’m just so excited… All I can tell you is that it’s heavy and it’s aggressive, and I think people are going to dig it because, talking as a fan, it’s f****** badass.”
