National Public Health Week

Written by on April 2, 2018

It’s National Public Health Week, and Park County’s Public Health Nursing Supervisor says it’s an opportunity for citizens to educate themselves on how to keep themselves and their families at their best.
Bill Crampton says that the week’s national awareness campaign will highlight health topics from behavioral health to communicable diseases.
Among the eight essential services that Crampton says are offered by the Park County Public Health office are maternal health; communicable disease prevention; and what he calls long term care assessments, which are critical in a county that has the one of the oldest average populations in the state.

Crampton says that throughout this coming week, his office will be putting out ideas for healthy living on their Facebook page, offering suggestions daily on topics such as environmental health, injury and violence prevention, and advocating for everyone’s right to a healthy life.
