Native Culture Topic of Community Meeting
Written by Andrew-Rossi on June 15, 2017
There will be a community meeting this evening on new legislation that mandates public school programs on American Indian culture.
According to a release from the Wyoming Department of Education, the meeting at 6 p.m. this evening at the Park County District 6 office is intended to gather public input to be shared with the Social Studies Standards Review Committee for their consideration prior to their work.
Participants will be asked to respond to questions such as why it’s important for everyone to learn about American Indians, and what aspects of Native cultural heritage, history, and contemporary contributions should be considered by the committee as they create these policies.
