A new queen has been crowned.
Saturday night marked the beginning of the reign of the new Miss Cody Stampede, Mackenzie Scott. Scott, a senior at Cody High School, has been active in Cody’s rodeo community for many years, and has been an ambassador for the rodeo queen program since being crowned as “Lady-In-Waiting” last year.
On KODI’s Partyline show, Mackenzie said that it’s an exciting time to be crowned as rodeo royalty in Cody.
Scott’s coronation was held Saturday night at the Holiday Inn. The event was also a fundraiser to help pay for her travel expenses and other requirements for representing Cody’s rodeo around the state and the nation.
A pageant to name the rest of the royal team, including junior princess, rodeo princess, and lady-in-waiting, will be held May 28th.
