New Street Crossing System Near CHS

Installation of a new pedestrian crossing system is complete near Cody High School and the Park County Courthouse.
Wyoming Department of Transportation area traffic supervisor Steven Otto of Basin says the new pedestrian crossing system replaces the old school zone 20 mph flashers at the intersection. The new system is push-button activated, solar powered, and will be available all year, giving students, citizens and tourist pedestrians a street crossing warning system.
Otto pointed out that the crossing system is not a traffic signal, so all pedestrians are encouraged to use caution even when the lights are activated by pushing the button.
