Black Hills Energy will be closing off a portion of Newton Avenue in Cody for a few days next week to complete the replacement of a natural gas line.
Beginning Monday, June 11th, the intersection of Newton Avenue and 24th street will be closed to all traffic and will remain closed through June 13th, or until the natural gas line replacement is completed.
Utility officials say that the Newton Avenue section of natural gas lines in Cody was installed in 1958 – they have been in the process of replacing about 10,000 feet of aged steel natural gas main lines and 133 service lines to residential structures.
