Officer Related Shooting in Worland Sunday

An officer related shooting in Worland Sunday has put a man in the hospital in Billings, after he assaulted one officer and attempted to attack another.
Washakie County Attorney John Worrall says officers with the sheriff’s office and the Worland Police Department entered a home late Sunday night and encountered a man with a baseball bat. One of the officers was hit in the head and knocked unconscious, and the other shot the man in the abdomen as he approached. The man is in critical condition at a hospital in Billings, and is scheduled for additional surgery today.
