Park County Library is holding a Christmas Gingerbread House Contest, which starts today. The theme for this year’s contest is “Season’s Reading.”
Entries will be judged according to three categories: adult, youth, and family and or teams. Park County Library says, “building a gingerbread house would make a really fun team-building exercise for families, friends, or coworkers.”
Entries will be accepted and approved at the Circulation Desk of the Cody Library from Monday, December 5th through Monday, December 12th and the gingerbread house display will then remain up until Saturday, December 17th.
Judging, for the contest, will take place on Tuesday, December 13th. There will be one prize for each of the three categories and the winners will be chosen based on “overall appearance, imagination, and theme interpretation.”
Everything on the gingerbread house must be edible—gingerbread, candy, and sweets are highly recommended. Guidelines for constructing the house request that it be built on a platform no larger than 18”x18”.
Pick up an entry form at the Cody Library Circulation Desk or download and print the form here.
