Park County School District #6 Serving Breakfast and Lunch for Students This Summer
Written by Andrew-Rossi on June 2, 2022
School may be out for the summer, but Park County School District #6 is ensuring breakfast and lunch are still available for its students.
The last day of school for Cody students was May 26. However, Park County School District #6 is still working for the best interests of its students.
One service that will continue throughout the summer is the district’s meal program. Breakfast and lunch will be served nearly every day throughout the entire summer. And every meal is free for any student 18 and under.
The district will no longer serve “grab-and-go” bulk meals at sites like Youth Clubs of Park County and Mentock Park. Instead, individual meals will be served through Park County School District #6’s summer slam and R.E.C. summer programs.
Throughout the summer, Cody students can get breakfast and lunch at either Sunset Elementary School or the Cody Rec Center.
Sunset Elementary School will serve meals Monday through Thursday between June 6 and 23 and July 11 and 28. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Meanwhile, both breakfast and lunch will be served at the Paul Stock Aquatic and Recreation Center every weekday all summer.
Meals will be available Monday through Friday – breakfast from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
There are some seasonal closures at the Cody Rec Center, mainly July 4 for Independence Day and August 1 through 5 for the annual deep cleaning of the facility. However, meals will be available every other day this summer.
