Park, Washakie Top Unemployment List

Park County and Washakie County currently top the list for the state’s highest unemployment rates.
According to the Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, most county unemployment rates changed very little from February to March. Washakie County’s rate increased from 4.4% to 4.9%, but unemployment rates fell in Park – down from 5.2% to 4.8%.
The lowest unemployment rate in the state was found in Teton County at 2.4%, but the highest rates were reported in Washakie County and Park County.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell from 3.9% in February to 3.7% in March. Wyoming’s unemployment rate was slightly lower than the current U.S. rate of 3.8%.
