PCTC Accepting Grant Applications

Calling all non-profit organizations – the Park County Travel Council is currently accepting grant applications for 2019.
Marketing dollars and possibly further assistance is available for non-profits that are promoting an event, a community or attraction for next year. Last year over $300,000 was awarded to around 15 grantees, according to Claudia Wade, executive director for the Travel Council.
Wade says the grant program has been in existence since the Council’s beginnings, when it primarily supported the visitors centers in the individual communities, with the intent to keep people in the area once they had been enticed here through marketing campaigns.

Organizations that have been supported in the past include local visitor centers, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Old Trail Town and the Cody Stampede. But with the exception of the visitor centers, Wade says the money has to be used in a way that will bring people to the County from out of the area.

The grant application deadline is 5pm on Monday, October 15th, and those grants will be reviewed by the board at November’s budget hearing.
