Phone Scam Targets Businesses

The Cody Chamber of Commerce is warning residents of a phone scam that is targeting businesses.
According to an email sent out by the Chamber, callers claiming to be from the Cody Enterprise are attempting to sell advertising space for the Cody Visitors Guide. The callers claim that their local newspaper ad representative no longer works for the Enterprise, and they have taken over the project.
The Chamber notes that these are fraudulent calls. If you’ve received one of these calls, be sure to contact the Cody Enterprise directly to determine if the call was legitimate, but do not give out your personal information over the phone until you have verified the legitimacy of the contact.
