A tentative deal has been reached between federal prosecutors and a Powell psychologist who is facing 234 felony counts of health care fraud.
Gib Condie is accused of submitting more than $6.8 million dollars worth of fraudulent bills to Wyoming Medicaid between June of 2012 and February of 2016. According to court documents, Condie paid the money to more than 80 people who are alleged to have provided services to around 300 patients. However, prosecutors say that Condie, through his business, Big Horn Basin Mental Health Group, provided false bills to Medicaid, and made false statements about diagnoses and billing.
Condie had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a trial had been set for early February. However, a plea agreement was filed Monday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne. Condie is set for a change of plea hearing this afternoon.
