Public Works Director Candidates Announced

The City of Cody has narrowed down to five the number of candidates applying for the Public Works Director position that was vacated by Steve Payne in June.
City Administrator Barry Cook says the finalists were selected from a group of 37 applicants for the position. Among them are Kristen Bauer, who is currently the Director of Public Services for the City of Marshall, Michigan; Phillip Bowman is currently the Engineer for the City of McCall, Idaho; and James Brough, currently the Northwest District Engineer for the Water Quality Division of the Wyoming DEQ.
Two of the candidates have close local ties. Jeremy Gilb is the chairman of the Powell Economic Partnership and the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce. He currently works for T-O Engineers, which recently acquired GDA Engineers, where Gilb had worked since 2007 and was an owner/partner. And Justin Lundvall is a Cody native and resident, who has worked for WYDOT, as well as in the private sector for the past 12 years.
All five have been invited to Cody for the Annual Ice Cream Social this Thursday, August 23rd. All community members are invited to the event, which will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Cook says at the reception, Cody residents will be welcome to personally speak with the Public Works Director candidates, who will then meet with interview panels on Friday, August 24th. The interview panels will consist of community members, City staff and the City administrator.
