Regarding local hockey: the Yellowstone Quake Tier III Junior club of Cody has been practicing since back on August 28th (players had actually reported to town here about the 24th of that most recent month) for its 2017-18 ledger with third-year head coach Ryan Theros.

“Wyoming’s Team” wrapped up the ’16-17 schedule with a total record of 46 wins, seven regulation losses, no overtime defeats, and three shootout losses by all games – regular season as well as that postseason.  Yellowstone captured the eight-member Frontier Division of the North American Tier III Hockey League by notching 83 points at 40-4-0-3 over that last regularly-slated campaign; took the divisional playoffs among the six groups that qualified; again made it to the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship Tournament held in Romeoville, IL, near Chicago; then reached the semifinals at that national event before ultimately tying for third out of eight.  Theros brings back only four kids right now off that past crew, has just 17 players altogether at the moment (a full protected roster is 25), as well as featuring one homestate product in returning forward Carter Johnson of Meeteetse.

Without any exhibition affairs, the Quake really get their docket begun this Friday then Saturday nights here against Montana’s Missoula Junior Bruins.
