Raffle to Benefit Art League
Written by Andrew-Rossi on September 10, 2018
We’re just a week away from the 2018 Rendezvous Royale, the annual celebration of art, artists and artisans in Cody.
Among the many activities and focuses of the week is a raffle that will benefit the Cody Country Art League, which supports and promotes local artists year-round. The League is raffling off an original painting by one of the founders of the Cody Country Art League, George C. Smith.
Graham Jackson, who is on the board for the art league, says that the Smith painting, which is valued at $1600, embodies the spirit of the West.
Jackson says that the proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Art League, which provides educational opportunities to locals, as well as supports artists that live in the area.
Raffle tickets are available this week at the Cody Country Art League, which is on the corner of Sheridan and 8th Street in the same building as the Visitor Center. Jackson says the drawing will take place at 3 p.m. on the 22nd, during the open house at the gallery following the Buffalo Bill Art Show’s Quick Draw event, but you don’t have to be present to win.
