Written by Chance Bond on March 15, 2022
A Big Horn Basin nonprofit organization called Rainhorse Equine Assisted Services is asking for help from residents in a contest that ends March 17, 2022. Rainhorse is one of ten finalists in the Feed It Forward grant program hosted by Nutrena Feeds. The ten finalists are promoted on social media, and whoever wins the most votes wins the grant. To support the local non-profit, go to www.feeditforward.org/vote, and search for and vote for Rainhorse. You can vote once a day. Every month they take their two miniature horses into the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin to engage with the residents in their Ponies and Poetry program. Rainhorse is based in Hyattville, and their mission is “to create a safe forum where horses guide people towards physical, psychological and emotional healing…” adding they “…will enlist the aid of horses who have experienced hardship, and rehabilitated by Rainhorse.”
