Recreation Area Closed for Flood Cleanup

The BLM will temporarily close the parking and picnic areas at the Bobcat–Houlihan Recreation Area next week.
The Recreation Area is located 28 miles southwest of Cody along the South Fork Highway, and was damaged by flooding earlier this year. Beginning Monday, August 14, workers will begin the cleanup of mud and debris that buried the area during a recent flash flood and irrigation ditch culvert failure. During the cleanup, the access trail leading to the South Fork will remain open.
BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner Paul Rau says that closing the area for a short time is the safest and most efficient way to remove the debris.
