Relay Changes Venues in Cody

The annual Relay for Life in Cody will look a little different this year.
The annual event this year is being held at the Paul Stock Rec Center on Saturday, August 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and rather than walking around a track all night, the schedule will include games and activities for the whole family.
West Park Hospital Public Relations Director Ashley Trudo says the event celebrates survivors, caregivers and honors those who have lost the battle against cancer. She points out that the organizers hope to attract more participants with change in venue, and in the way the event will be presented this year.
Funds raised during the event will go to support programs that provide free wigs and makeup for cancer patients, rides to treatment, lodging programs and research. She adds that the American Cancer Society funds collegiate level researchers, and has most recently funded a $795,000 grant to the University of Wyoming.
