Riding Across the State to Raise Awareness

Written by on July 1, 2019

A woman from a small town in the Big Horn Basin will be raising awareness about a global crisis – while riding across the state on donkeys and mules.

The Basin Republican-Rustler reports that Karen Fettig of Manderson is riding across Wyoming to draw attention to the human trafficking crisis. She was scheduled to leave Belfry, Montana, yesterday, and plans to end at the Wyoming/Colorado line south of Laramie on July 19.

Fettig is the founder of Beneath Our Wings Ministry, which is dedicated to bringing awareness about human trafficking, sexting and other subjects that may affect youth and families, through the use of seminars and other training events.

The Rustler notes that along her route, Fettig will be handing out brochures and magnets, which are in English and Spanish. She says she would like to see them placed in bathroom stalls in public places, as the magnets have numbers to call for help.

Fettig will be featured in the Cody Stampede Parade, as well as the Ten Sleep parade this week. Her husband Clint is accompanying her with a pickup and horse trailer that has a custom wrap with information about human trafficking and how to get help.
