RMEF Donates to Game and Fish

When organizations work together, good things happen.
That happens frequently in Wyoming, when it comes to wildlife and conservation projects. Case in point – the Wyoming chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation recently committed almost $423 thousand dollars to projects in Wyoming – and $83,500 will be going to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to support 10 Game and Fish led projects.
Renny McKay, Communications Director for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, says these funds will go toward projects including the Access Yes program, post-fire restoration, weed treatments, aspen and meadow enhancements, and disease and nutrition research, just to name a few.
Wyoming’s 20 RMEF chapters represent over 9,100 members. Since 1984, RMEF has conserved or enhanced over 1.1 million acres in Wyoming through the use of prescribed fire, weed treatments, re-seeding, thinning, water development and conservation and hunting easements.
