A man who committed sexual battery within Yellowstone National Park has been sentenced to serve 12 months in prison.
25 year old Micah Nathanial Heck was sentenced recently on charges stemming from an incident in early September of last year. An investigation led by a Special Agent with the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch led to Heck’s arrest, which was based on an incident on September 3rd within a concessionaire employee dormitory in the Old Faithful area of the park.
Working with a US Park Ranger of Yellowstone National Park, the ISB Special Agent obtained substantial evidence to support criminal charges against Heck, who was indicted and later located and taken into custody in Claude, Texas.
After his release from prison, Heck must serve a year of supervised release and pay over $1,600 in restitution and fines. Additionally, he must register as a sex offender.
