Shell Falls Work Delayed

Written by on August 22, 2017

Residents and visitors will have to wait a bit longer before enjoying the spectacular view of Shell Falls on Highway 14 east of Greybull.
Shoshone National Forest officials report that reconstruction of the trail at the Shell Falls Interpretive Site is on hold while concrete retaining wall blocks are being cast for the new trail. Work on the trail will resume in September or early October.
Until reconstruction is complete, public access is closed to the parking lot, interpretive site, and the trail to the falls because of safety and security concerns while the contractor’s equipment is stored at the site.
Officials say that trail construction will be completed by the end of this year, and the interpretive site will reopen for the summer season in May of 2018.
