Sheridan Avenue Construction Continues As Scheduled
Written by Andrew-Rossi on March 24, 2020
The latest update on the Sheridan Avenue project has been received: lots to do, some shortages, no delays.
As originally planned, the section from 10th Street to 11th Street and the north intersection of 10th Street and Sheridan Avenue is tentatively scheduled to open sometime today. The north side of Sheridan Avenue from 12th Street to 13th Street and the north intersection of 12th Street and Sheridan Avenue will be closed today. And then the work continues on the northside. Otherwise, the procedures will be the same: traffic carried in one lane each direction on the south half of the street through the work area, the speed limit is reduced to 20 mph through the work zone, and no left turns are allowed through the work zone.
COVID-19 hasn’t left the project untouched, however. Deliveries of concrete and fly ash have been delayed as a result of coronavirus responses across the county. Schedules and locations have been changed from the original schedule to try and stay on schedule as a result of these delays, and there is an ample supply of both materials to last throughout the first phase of the Sheridan Avenue project.
You can hear the latest on the closures, openings, and supplies during this week’s construction progress meeting: 10 am, on the porch of the Irma Hotel.
