The public is invited to give their input on the Forest Service’s Travel Management Plan.
The Shoshone National Forest will hold public meetings the week of November 27th to discuss the status of the travel management planning process and answer questions about the Revised Proposed Action, which was released last week.
According to the Forest’s website, the travel management plan is intended to provide a system of designated public motor vehicle access routes and areas within the Shoshone National Forest; identify resource concerns or enforcement issues; and designate roads, trails, and areas for winter motorized travel, among other concerns.
A local meeting will be held on November 30th at the Cody Club Room from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the Forest Service will also hold a government cooperator meeting at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank in Thermopolis next week. This meeting will be held on Monday, November 20th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. This meeting is intended to provide cooperating government entities with an update on the Travel Management Revised Proposed Action- however, the public is invited to attend and observe the meeting.
The official 30-day comment period on the revised proposed action will end on December 10th.
