Shoshone National Forest Selling Christmas Tree Permits

Make your holiday season special with an authentic Wyoming Christmas tree.

Tree permits for the Shoshone National Forest will be available beginning next Monday, November 18th. Each $8 permit is good for one personal Christmas tree, so long as its less than 20 feet tall with a trunk diameter less than six inches. The permit is good until the end of the calendar year when it is purchased. Fourth graders are eligible for a free permit with their Every Kid Outdoors pass!

Make sure you have all your paperwork in place! You must have a hard copy of your permit when you go to the forest and find your Yuletide tree.

The permits can be purchased through the Open Forest System, but will also be available at all the Good 2 Go stores in Cody. They can also be purchased at these locations:

  • Wea Market, Meeteetse
  • Wind River Gear, Dubois
  • Popo Agie One Stop, Lander
