Skier from Alta to Compete in South Korea

Written by on February 8, 2018

A 21 year old from the small town of Alta is competing in the Winter Olympics in South Korea this weekend.
Wyoming’s Jaelin Kauf will compete in the Olympics on Sunday in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The 21-year-old enters the games as the world’s top ranked moguls skier.
According to an article in the Jackson Hole News and Guide, Kauf spent much of her childhood on the slopes of Grand Targhee Ski Resort, following in the footsteps of her parents. Kauf’s father, Scott, was a five-time World Pro Mogul Tour champion, and her mother, Patti, won the tour twice.
The newspaper reports that none of the Kaufs expected her to be where she is now, as her rise to the top has come suddenly. But they all feel she’s capable of winning the gold medal.
