SkyWest Commits to Salt Lake City Flights Despite Pandemic
Written by Andrew-Rossi on April 10, 2020
Good news, Cody. And no, it’s not just a flight of fancy.
COVID-19 may have grounded flights around the globe, but it hasn’t grounded the ambitions of Skywest Airlines, the regional airline that operates in partnership with Delta and United Airlines with a fleet of 504 aircraft. They have been operating as the regional provider for all flights between Cody and Salt Lake City for the past few years.
There’s been considerable anxiety over the current state of flights, especially considering how the COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented losses in the airline industry. United’s regional operator recently went defunct and operations were taken over by another airline. SkyWest has previously committed to continuing their SLC flights, but that was in some jeopardy due to the continuing measures to combat the virus.
Following the guidance of the US Department of Transportation and the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES Act, SkyWest has fully committed to 3 weekly flights to SLC – Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – beginning on May 22nd and continuing until October 4th.
You can begin booking Cody to SLC flights on April 18th. Happy trails!
