Slow Down for Chip Sealing Project South of Meeteetse

A chip-sealing project between Thermopolis and Meeteetse today will cause delays, and WYDOT officials are cautioning drivers to plan accordingly.
Cody Beers with the Wyoming Department of Transportation says the project will run a full 32 mile stretch between Thermopolis and Meeteetse on Highway 120, and the department is asking for patience from motorists.
Beers says the pilot cars will navigate motorists through a mile or two at a time, at speeds below 30 miles per hour to prevent damage to windshields.
Beers points out that chip sealing is the most cost-effective way to maintain the long stretches of highway in Wyoming, and they try to chip-seal the roadways in Northwest Wyoming once every nine to eleven years.
